Akshay Kumar’s animated film Jumbo has been delayed. The film scheduled to release on December 18th has not been postponed to December 25th. But what this means is that Akki will clash with Aamir Khan as Ghajini is slated for release on the same date.
“Earlier Jumbo was supposed to release in a fortnight but later on we thought that it’s just one week before Christmas and as this film is mainly for kids and everyone will have Christmas vacations and so it will be a Christmas gift to kids all over India,” informs a spokesperson from Percept Picture Company.
“Akshay is very excited about Jumbo. He has dedicated the film to all the kids of the world and also Aarav his son who wants this film to be shown during the Christmas time. Akki too personally thinks that Christmas time is very lucky for him… if you see both Namastey London and Welcome were also a Christmas releases and they have done well at the box-office,” adds Akshay’s manager.
This will be the second time that Aamir and Akshay will clash at the box office. Last year too Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par and Akshay Kumar’s Welcome both released on December 21st. And luckily for the superstars both did very well at the box office. The big question will it be a repeat performance this year too? That’s something only time will tell!
