Ayesha’s surgery just a rumour

Ayesha Takia is quite upset with the recent rumours doing the rounds that she’s gone to the UK to do liposuction in order to cut down on the weight that she has gained.

The pretty girl who is busy shooting out of Mumbai, couldn’t believe what was being said about her. “She has not gone for any such cosmetic changes. Ayesha is busy shooting for her film.

These talks are utter rubbish,” said her angry father, putting all the baseless rumours circulating about his daughter to rest. Ayesha is one actress who doesn’t do things to gain publicity, she rather prefers her work to do all the talking and till date, she has never disappointed either her filmmakers or her fans. So whether she has gained or lost weight, we can still expect a power-packed performance from her. Way to go, girl!

Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia and Nana Patekar in Paathshala

The renowned Choreographer cum Director Ahmed Khan, has now turned Producer with his film Paathshala. The film will be co-produced by his wife Shaira Khan and will be directed by Milind Uke.

"Paathshala revolves around kids and is set in the school campus. It has actors like Shahid Kapur, Nana Patekar, Ayesha Takia in essential characters. The film has child artists like Swini Khare (Cheeni Kum), Ali Haji (Partner) and Dwij Yadav (Nanhe Jaisalmer) in pivotal roles." informs Ahmed Khan.

There was a buzz that Shahid Kapoor is only doing a cameo in the film, however, Ahmed clears the rumor. "Shahid is not doing a cameo, it is a character role. He plays a teacher who teaches English and Music. Nana Patekar is playing the role of the Principal, and Ayesha Takia is a teacher who looks into the extra curricular activities. Besides them, there is Sushant Singh and Saurabh Shukla in the film as well," says Ahmed Khan.

One of the interesting facts about the film is that it will mark the come back of well-known child artist, Sunny Singh, who was seen in the famous tv serial, Dekh Bhai Dekh, as Shekhar Suman's son. "Yes, amongst all the kids, Sunny Singh (who had earlier played the child artist in English Babu Desi Mem) who would be doing one of the prominent roles in the film, along with Shraddha. The story also has the plot of a school kid played by Mehnaaz, who falls in love with her teacher (Shahid)", adds Ahmed.

The shooting of the film is wrapped up. "We are now in the post production stages and the dubbing is to be done." Talking about the music, Ahmed says, "Hanif, who had earlier composed the music for the song 'Shakirave Shakira' in my directorial film, Fool N Final, has composed the music for Paathshala. Since all the songs are very script-driven, there is no special choreography done for it, I have done that only partially. The four songs in the film only help to take the story further."

"Paathshala is an entertaining film with a big social message," signs off Ahmed.

Femme fatales!

Bollywood, we would like to believe, is full of fearless femme fatales!

Action king Akshay Kumar is hosting the popular reality show Fear Factor with nine of the film industry’s hot actors participating in it.

Akki, who is reportedly being paid Rs 1.5 crore per episode, has for company in his daredevilry the likes of Celina Jaitly, Aarti Chabria, Sonali Kulkarni, Ayesha Takia and Anjana Sukhani among others.

They will have to match the Bollywood Khiladi who is known for his martial arts prowess and death-defying stunts. At present the actors are undergoing rigorous training for the show that will be shot in South Africa.

“They will have to perform different stunts like jumping from helicopters and high-rise buildings to eating scorpions live,” said a source.

Ayesha Takia has turned down director Nagesh Kukunoor's next

Ayesha Takia has turned down director Nagesh Kukunoor's next just because it has an intense sex scene. Ayesha worked with Nagesh in 'Dor', the film which gave her lot of critical acclaims. But when Nagesh approached Ayesha for his next, Ayesha didn't think twice to refuse him as she was supposed to do a bold scene for the film. "I'm sorry. But a sex scene is out of the question. When I came into this industry I set down some dos and don'ts for myself. And I plan to stick by them," said Ayesha in a recent interview. Isn't there any way the director and the actress can work this out? "It is a problem," Ayesha conceded. "For the girl in Nagesh's next film her sexuality is a very important part of her character. Nagesh feels it won't work without the kiss. I respect that," said Ayesha.

Sabse Favourite host Ayesha

In the industry where skin show is the order of the day, Ayesha Takia is an exception. “I can't do a film, which I cannot watch with my family.” Last seen in Nagesh Kukunoor's ‘Dor', Ayesha has decided to do one “sensible” film every year. “I think every actor should do that. ‘Dor' satisfied me as an actor. In fact, it's important for me to believe in it before I say yes to a glamourous role,” she says.
The chirpy actress has her kitty full with ‘Salaam-E-Ishq', ‘Full ‘n' Final', ‘De Talli' and ‘No Smoking'. “Not just that I'd also be hosting Sabse Favourite Kaun Awards, 2006,” she informed.
So is she rehearsing for it?
“Not really. The fact that I love to talk non-stop would help a lot.”

Ayesha stepped into Bip's shoes

Ayesha Takia stepped into Bipasha Basu's shoes. As per latest, wonder gal Ayesha Takia has been roped in opposite John Abraham for Anurag Kashyap's next ‘No Smoking'. Initially the role was offered to Bipasha Basu; needless to say Bipasha declined the role. As per rumours the film's story will revolve around a chain-smoker, which will be played by John, and the role offered to Bipasha will have not much to do in the film except playing love-interest of John, and that's the reason Bipasha turned down the offer, though officially Bipasha said she had not sufficient dates to allot for this project. Besides Ayesha and John, there will be director Raj Kumar Santoshi, playing an important role in the film. It's for the second time Santoshi will be seen before camera, earlier he acted in a children's film ‘Halo'. As per rumours, Santoshi will play a serio-comic character of a talkative medical practitioner who cajoles John to quit smoking.
Kumar Mangat of ‘Omkara' fame will produce the movie, and Vishal Bhardwaj will score its music.

Ayeshas love scene in "Dor"

Ayesha Takia doesn't want to kiss on screen and doesn't mind giving up Nagesh Kukunoor's film if she has to smooch. But she has already done a lovemaking scene in ‘Dor'. Sounds strange? Kukunoor's ‘Dor' has beautiful montage shots of love making scenes of Gul Panag and Ayesha Takia with their respective screen husbands. So, how is it that someone who does a lovemaking scene, develops cold feet when asked to do a smooching scene?
Says Sudeep Chaterjee, the cinematographer of ‘Dor', “Ayesha is a professional actor and I didn't have any problem shooting the lovemaking scene with her.”
If you see the shots carefully we've only shown the portions where the guy is taking off Ayesha's ornaments. Gul Panag in contrast, has much more exposure on screen. We had a bare back scene with her. She has more physical contact in the scene than Ayesha does in her scene.”
So, perhaps the trick lied in planning the sequence is such a way that Ayesha never had to expose more than she desired for the scene. Great!

Ayesha Takia's rare love story

Ayesha Takia and Tusshar Kapoor, who are playing lead roles in producer N.R. Pachisia's "Kya Love Story Hai", feel that the film is a unique love story and everybody will connect to it.

Ayesha plays a vibrant girl paired opposite Tushaar.

Talking about her role, she said: "I play Kajal, a young independent girl who knows exactly what she wants. She's studying and works part-time as well. She's a hardworking girl of today's generation with that innate drive and vigour.

"This is not like the ideal love story where a girl and a guy meet, fall in love and the villain plays the spoilsport. Everybody can relate to the film since everyone at some point in one's life has fallen in love."

Tushaar plays a fun-loving guy facing the mind-heart tussle.

"Though the basic plot is simple, what makes this love story different is the way the story unfolds. It also has freshness in terms of dialogues," said Tusshar.

Pachisia echoes the same views.

"Don't you think the title itself is unusual? I think it's a contemporary film in terms of presentation and projection. Besides, the Tushaar-Ayesha paring makes it unique."

The producer is equally confident about debutant director Lovely Singh. "New directors are very hardworking and sincere. They have that burning desire and fire within them to make things work," said Pachisia.

Singh is positive about his directorial debut.

"This is my first film and I'm not apprehensive about it. I'm trying to make a good film and give it my best. The characters are lovable with some great music by Pritam. We have recorded two songs and I must say he has done a great job."

Ayesha Takia refuses to work with her brother

Ayesha Takia is one gutsy girl. She lives up to what she speaks. And now she has done what most top league heroines would not dare to do. Ayesha has just refused to do a movie with her ‘Rakhi’ brother Nagesh Kukunoor with whom she has just done Dor. The reason being, a kiss was involved in the film.

Nagesh offered Ayesha the role in his next film. The script was very good and Ayesha loved it too. But the only problem was that the script demanded Ayesha to kiss. And Ayesha had made it clear to everyone that she will not be doing any kissing scene for any movie. This was long before even Dor happened to her. And till date she maintains what she said earlier.

This is not the first case Ayesha said no to a movie because of a kissing scene involved. She had earlier refused Yashraj Films, Neal N Nikki for the same reason. Way to go girl!!!!!

"Don't look so shocked..."- Ayesha Takia

On the set of Kya Love Story Hai"Don't look so shocked. Mein kisiko nahi bataungi, but just 1 question. Agar hum peena hi nahi chahtein, to glass lene ki kya zaroorat hai," Ayesha Takia told Tushaar on the sets of her forthcoming film KYA LOVE STORY HAI.

Glamsham caught up with the effervescent Ayesha Takia, Tushaar Kapoor and entire cast and crew of N. R. Pachisia's (of JAWANI DIWANI, JO BOLE SO NIHAAL fame) KYA LOVE STORY HAI. Ask the producer what makes this love story unique and he gushes, "Don't you think the title itself is unusual? I think it's a contemporary film in terms of presentation and projection. Besides the Tushaar-Ayesha paring makes it unique."

And what does he have to say about debutant director Lovely Singh? "I am very confident about him. New directors are very hardworking and sincere. They have that burning desire and fire within them to make things work," he adds.
