Zakir Hussein got slapped by co-star Esha Deol!

Zakir Hussein considers himself to be a sensitive villain. Owing to his personality, he believes that he does not even get beaten up as a villain ideally should. However, when he tried to do comedy in an upcoming project “Darling” he got slapped by co-star Esha Deol!

Apparently, Hussein was relating the spite of his broken leg to Fardeen Khan in a hospital scene for the movie. Esha Deol was dodging in and out of the frame as she is playing the role of a ghost in the movie. When director Ram Gopal Varma shouted “Slap him”- Esha spontaneously slapped Zakir Hussein, although it was not a part of the script. The slap was unforeseen and it left everybody speechless.

An apologetic Esha requested Hussein to slap her back, fearing that the poor actor will report this incident to her brother Sunny Deol – with whom he is working in Fool N Final, or maybe papa dearest Dharmendra – with whom Zakir is working in Johnny Gaddar.

Esha Deol in Kalpana Lajmi's next ?

Esha Deol roped in for director Kalpana Lajmi's next. It's an international project, to be made in two languages - Hindi and English; Mahendra Dhariwal has set to produce the film.
Initially the role was offered to Bengali bombshell Bipasha Basu. But Bipasha, busy with her other commitments, couldn't allot required dates to Lajmi, who wanted to start the project in March. Producer Dhariwal confirmed, “Kalpanaji has already narrated the script to Bipasha Basu and she had liked the script but due to date problems she has been replaced by Esha Deol.”
As per source, Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta has been signed up for playing a pivotal role in the film. And at present the makers are in search of a new-face hero and heroine for the project.
The film will be shot in Bikaner and Jaisalmer. Shooting will begin in March 2007.

Bollywod stars makes Children’s Day memorable for the kids

Over a hundred kids from the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) had the time of their life on Monday when the organisation announced a week long festival on the occasion of Children’s Day (November 14). And along with the clowns and magicians, shaking a leg with them were Bollywood stars Esha Deol, Kunal Kapoor, Dia Mirza and Suniel Shetty. “I got to celebrate Children’s Day with these special needs children and it feels amazing to see them so charged up. I’m glad I got an opportunity to make them feel as special as possible,” said Esha Deol who seemed to be the kids’ favourite.

Though many others are constantly involving themselves in socially relevant causes, it seems like Bollywood’s glamorous faces always have an edge. Agrees Kunal, “These kids relate a lot to the entertainment world we belong too because it is really fun-filled. So as celebrities, if we do have an edge, I think we must make use of it completely and do as much possible for their benefit.”

Esha Deol whose mother, actor Hema Malini has been associated with the cause for the past ten years adds, “If I can be one amongst those role models they look up to, I will feel blessed.”

In an initiative to take this platform from Mumbai to the rest of India, the association also announced actor Dia Mirza as its brand ambassador. “A lot of kids out there don’t even know about Children’s Day. If each of us makes a little effort we could make a huge difference,” sums up Dia.

Esha flips for beauty

Actress Esha Deol seems to be having a gala time in South Africa. When she's not busy shooting for Anubhav Sinha's "Cash" in Cape Town, she works out at the sprawling gym of the hotel.
In fact, Esha is quite glad that she has time to concentrate on her fitness and physique - because these mean a lot to her.
What's more, she has fallen in love with the serene beauty of Cape Town and feels she could just buy a house there.

Not a bad idea!

In Cape Town, lonely Esha called up …..!

Hema Malini joined daughter Esha Deol in Cape Town where the latter is shooting for ‘Cash'. Hema flied down after Esha called her up. Esha could not be happier. She says, “My mom is my world and I take my world everywhere with me. She will be with me for a while. Since it is a long schedule here I needed somebody for company and cannot think of anybody better than my mom.”
Esha sports a Mohawk and wears leather jackets in ‘Cash'. “I play a reckless car driver and for that I underwent training to learn to spin my car in a 180-degree turn,” she says.

Esha Deol haunts Isha Koppikar

Well, here’s the scoop of Ram Gopal Varma’s latest directorial venture Darling. As against the title, this isn’t a romantic film (you can expect that in his other film Nishabd). On the contrary this is a ghost story. Not the typical scary types though but on a much lighter note.

In this film Fardeen is paired opposite two women who sound the same but spell different (Esha Deol and Isha Koppikar). Esha Deol and Fardeen Khan are in love until Esha suddenly passes away. Fardeen hooks up with Isha Koppikar and they get married. Now the fun begins when the ghost of Esha Deol who is still in love with Fardeen and has not yet crossed over into the other world comes into their lives and enters Isha’s body.

This is Fardeen Khan’s second encounter with a ghost. The first time was also in Ram Gopal Varma’s Bhoot. However that film was more serious while this film is an out an out comedy.
