Tanushree’s shocking revelations

The actress talks about what transpired on Wednesday on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss
Tanushree Dutta and her parents aren’t going to forget March 26 in a hurry. “We’ve been through hell and back. My car has been smashed to pieces due to mob fury. But what has happened to my dignity, self-respect and my identity as a woman are irreparable,” the shaken actress said on Thursday afternoon.

‘I rehearsed’

It all started when Tanushree was approached to do an item song for Rakesh Sarang’s Horn Ok Pleassss. “I made it clear to the producer, director and choreographer Ganesh Acharya that I’m not a run-of-the-mill item girl. I was very particular about my clothes and movements. We rehearsed nearly a week. And now they’re saying I was uncooperative and was not ready to rehearse.”

Uncomfortable

What awaited Tanushree on the set was four days of horror. “From the start, I wasn’t comfortable with Nana Patekar’s presence.

Nana had just three words O yara re in the song. Still he insisted on being around throughout. That was fine. He’s the film’s hero and it’s his prerogative. But then, instead of the choreographer, Nana started showing me the steps.”

Tanushree made her displeasure at this very clear. “A couple of times, I pushed his hands away when he got too close. But it didn’t seem to make a difference. He continued to direct my steps roughly and aggressively. Things got really out of hand when Ganesh incorporated steps where Nana could get physically close to me.”

That’s when the actress chose to walk off the set and lock herself up in her van. “Not for three hours, as they reported on the TV channels but for 90 minutes. They called up Pehlaj Nihalani to intervene and he told them to change the steps if they made me uncomfortable. I finally came out of my van only to be told they won’t change the steps.

Why? Was it Valmiki’s Ramayan that nothing could be changed? I think the producer, director and choreographer decided to teach me a lesson. They threatened to call the media on the sets and proclaim I was un-cooperative. I didn’t know how serious they were.”

Trapped

Nana apparently had left by then. Tanushree decided to leave too. “But my car was surrounded by hordes of TV journalists. When they couldn’t get a sound byte they pushed themselves into the front seat of my car.

When that didn’t work they began banging on the windshield with their cameras. My parents and I were trapped inside my car. Anything could’ve happened. We frantically tried to call the producer and director. They had both switched off their mobiles.”

What security?

The Duttas have lodged an FIR against those who allegedly attacked them. “What I want to know is, where was the security at Filmistan studio when I was attacked? Where were the producer and director? They’ve wasted no time in replacing me with Rakhi Sawant for the song and labelling me uncooperative. But why did they realise how unprofessional I was only on the fourth day?

Can they get others in the film industry to accuse me of undisciplined behaviour? Or did they think they could mess with me and manhandle me just because I’m a girl?”

More movies coming few months

After her twin releases last year in the form of 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' and 'Chocolate', Tanushree Dutta had to contend with a song'n'dance appearance in '36 China Town' this year. But her fans would have a lot more to see of her in coming few months.

Starting with 'Bhagam Bhag' where in a small appearance she has a song and a few scenes to enact, she would be seen in Raj Kanwar produced 'Raqueeb - Rivals In Love' in early 2007 where she is the center of attraction of Rahul Khanna, Jimmy Shergill and Sharman Joshi. 'Risk' would be coming close too though she is not expected to have an author backed role there since it seems more as a Randeep Hooda - Vinod Khanna face off!

It could surely be different though in the case of 'Good Boy Bad Boy', the publicity of which should now begin anytime since producer Subhash Ghai is already done with his 'Apna Sapna Mone Money'. Co-starring with Emraan Hashmi, Tusshar Kapoor and Isha Sharwani, it surely seems to be a fun outing.

Another film that is long in the making, Vikram Bhatt's 'Speed', also seems to be a popcorn entertainer and if the few remaining portions of the film that remain to be shot are completed soon, it could make Tanushree visible for a large part of next year.

The fun only continues with 'Mr. Fraud', an Abbas Mustan thriller which should release around middle of next year. Starring Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Bipasha Basu, it is the biggest film so far for Tanushree to be a part of. Another biggie where she has a small but important role to play in one of the stories is Sanjay Gupta produced 'Dus Kahaniyaan'.

With such an array of releases coming next year, it could well be the turning point of Tanushree Dutta's film career.

Tanushree to dance with Akshay & Govinda

After her twin appearance in 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' and 'Chocolate', Tansuhree Dutta is back to sizzle the screens and teach her co-stars some lessons. And the first step in this direction is a stop at 'Pyaar ka signal' where she makes Akshay Kumar and Govinda dance to her beats.

Yes, that's the title of Tanushree's dance stage number in her upcoming film 'Bhagam Bhag' where she does a tango with two of the best dancers in the industry today - Akshay Kumar and Govinda! A funky rhythmic number put to tune by Pritam, 'Pyaar Ka Signal' is a flashy massy number with colorful western costumes and a glitzy stage that would comfortably cater to the gentry.

Tanushree in Raj Kanwar’s film Raqeeb

Tanushree Dutta is known for her cinematic falls. No, we are not talking about the rise or fall of her films but the number of times she has fell down while shooting or on her way for shooting. She slipped on her high heels and fell flat on the floor while shooting for Good Boy Bad Boy and once she also had a fall on the airport while leaving for Dubai for shooting an item number in 36 China Town.

And now she pulled her hat trick fall while shooting for Raj Kanwar’s film Raqeeb. The unit was shooting an action sequence at the Elphistone College and as per the scene she had to fall in a small ditch and roll sideways. There were cushions in the ditch to make things safer. But as Tanushree ran, she slipped on the mud just before the ditch and landed into the ditch with her head in and legs up. And as she somersaulted her costars Rahul Khanna and Sharman Joshi couldn’t help laughing.

The unit subsequently got serious when they felt that Tanushree was injured. But she escaped with minor injuries. However it took her five minutes to realize that she was fine. Rahul and Sharman later watched her somersault on the monitor and continued laughing much to Tanushree’s embarrassment.

Tanushree sure seems to be going the Humpty Dumpty way.
