Rakhi Sawant proposed to Salman Khan with a ring!

Item girl Rakhi Sawant popped the question - Marry me!" at the grand finale of the reality television show Dus Ka Dum, hosted by Salman Khan. To everybody’s surprise, Rakhi proposed marriage to Salman with a ring. Rakhi was present to grace the grand finale of Dus Ka Dum which will be aired on September 14 on Sony Entertainment Television. The episode will be fun filled as controversy queen Rakhi Sawant will be the special guest. Rakhi is a person who is known to entertain the audience with her tongue-in-cheek jokes. She will be accompanied by comedian Shakeel Siddiqui.

Salman once judged Rakhi's dancing skill at Nach Baliye 3. On that occasion, she and her partner Abhishek Awasthi were upset as they were beatten by Sanjeeda Sheikh-Aamir Ali pair. Salman then tried to console her but depressed Rakhi left the event ignoring Sallu's call.

Two other celebrities, actors Rani Mukherjee and Lara Dutta will also present on the same episode and Rani ironically would ask Salman about his tussle with Shahrukh. With so many stars in the same episode, Dus Ka Dum would really be fun to watch.

The Beauty and the Best
After the recent infamous Salman-SRK spat, looks like Rani Mukherjee wants the cake and eat it too. She is of the opinion while Salman is my friend, SRK is not my enemy! Way to go, Rani!

De Taali…taali de
While Rani made no qualms about her being a major Salman fan and that she can burst into a 'mujra' if Sallu wants her to, Lara said that she was forced to see Maine Pyaar Kiya umpteen times because of her elder sister and her dates! Needless to ask, whom does Sallu prefer more? Rani or Lara! Well, your guess is as good as ours.

Do you wanna Partner?
Salman might have 'partnered' Lara Dutta in Partner with his antics, Lara maintained dignified silence on the sets on '10 Ka Dum' and spoke only when it was required, while Rani chatted her way nineteen to a dozen! Whatever happened to the true-Blue Lara?

Dost bana Host?
When Rani was posed with the question 'What percentage of Indians think two actors can be good friends?' she tried to bring in the Sallu-SRK spat and urged Sallu to forgive and forget! To which, Salman bluntly refused and also gave a long lecture on friendship to Rani on …what else …Dosti!

Khan will promote his TV show at the IPL finals

Salman Khan who is presently in Sydney shooting for Main Aur Mrs Khanna is planning to come down to Mumbai for the IPL finals on June 1.

According to the buzz, Salman wants to go all out to promote his show, and what better place than the IPL finals!

Even though details of what Salman will do at the IPL finale are sketchy we are told that he’s planning a powerhouse performance that will involve the stadium audience at the DY Patil grounds.

A source from the show reveals, “Salman is actively involved in all the promotional activities for 10 Ka Dum.

Right from the billboards to the promo spots, Salman has been having conversations with the creative heads on how to come up with better strategies. Since this is his debut on the television, he wants to make sure it becomes the talk of the town.”

A Sony TV programming executive confirmed the news and said, “Yes Salman is planning an event at the IPL finale, but the details are being worked out. He isn’t in town and will return in a couple of days. When he’s back, things will fall into place and his performance will be worked out.”

Salman Khan is going all out to promote his new TV show

After Shah Rukh Khan hogged the limelight for most of April and May (courtesy IPL and his new T.V. show), looks like its now the turn of Salman Khan to be in the forefront.

By now its common knowledge that the actor would be making his TV debut with the game show Dus Ka Dum on Sony Entertainment Television. However, what is not known is that Salman is going all out to promote his show. And like his other colleagues who seem to be seen more on the cricket field than in the studios, Salman too would be seen during the finals of the ongoing IPL. According to reliable sources, Sallu (who is currently shooting in Australia for Main Aur Mrs. Khanna) would even do a dhamake-daar performance during the IPL finals scheduled to take place at the D.Y. Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai on June 1. Taking into account the number of people who would be watching the finals live and on T.V., Salman surely seems to have found the right platform to promote his show.

Moreover, it's not just the IPL finals where Salman would be promoting his new show; After Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, Salman seems to be the latest superstar bitten by the 'blogging' bug. The actor it seems has taken to writing seriously and has already started writing his blog on a website run by Sony Entertainment Television, the producers of his TV show. Needless to say, his first two posts revolve around the game show.

Looks like Salman is trying out ten different things to pack his 'Dus Ka Dum' punch.

Gimme TV, not movie!

Salman Khan will play an anchor twice — 10 Ka Dum on TV and on the big screen in Rumi Jaffrey’s God Tussi Great Ho. But he’s taken his TV job far more seriously.

It could be the money at stake that’s got Sallu all prepped up. Says a source, “Sallu has been paid a whopping amount for 10 Ka Dum and he has left no stone unturned to polish his anchoring skills.

He is seen practising with his family members, with people on his sets and everywhere else.”

A source from the GTGH unit observes, “During the movie shoot, we’d see Priyanka taking anchoring tips and researching her role.

On the other hand, Salman was relaxed and would deliver his shots like any other actor, without working on his role.”

Adds the source, “Salman has taken the show very seriously and wants to connect with the audience. After the growing popularity of King Khan and Big B, Salman too wants to create a mark on the small screen,” adds the source.

Dus bas nahi!

Salman Khan hiked his price for 10 Ka Dum after he heard what Akshay Kumar was getting

Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar haven’t really let the ice thaw since the cold vibes they shared in Jaan-e-Mann. And that was just the tip of the iceberg.

The stakes have risen since Akshay got paid a whopper for the desi Fear Factor and Salman wants to get even, or more than Akki, if he can.

A source says, “Recently, when Studio 18 approached Salman for a film he wanted to know how much Akshay was getting.

When he heard Akshay was getting 40 crore, Salman hiked his price to 50 crore. When Sony’s 10 Ka Dum was launched Salman was getting paid 90 crore for 100 episodes.

Then he read in a few tabloids that Akshay Kumar was anchoring a reality show — the desi version of Fear Factor on Viacom 18’s Colors — sand was getting paid a whopping Rs 1.5 crore per episode for 16 episodes.”

The source reveals that Salman was very upset on hearing this. “He was to start shooting for the show but refused to come on the sets. Salman threw a tantrum saying he wouldn’t shoot till his price was hiked and that he should get more than Akshay. Sony was in a fix. They had already announced the show with Salman and the promos were to soon go on air.

But they couldn’t agree to also what Salman was asking for. Finally Salman said they should pay him at least a crore per episodes. It was finally decided that Salman would be paid a whopping 104 crore for 100 episodes!

Siddharth Basu of Synergy Communication, which is producing the show says, “As far as I know, that’s nonsense. All these figures you mention are largely imaginary. Producers don’t deal with commercials when it comes to film stars. You could try speaking to Mr NP Singh or Mr Albert Almeida from Sony.”

Sony’s and Salman’s business manager remained unavailable for comment. Today, the first music video will be launched today at an event though Salman won’t be present. He is currently shooting for Sohail Khan’s Mr Aur Mrs Khanna in Australia.

Salman Khan in '10 Ka Dum'

After having tested waters on the silver screen, film actors are now shifting their seat positions towards the Television! It was the legendary Big B, whose 'Kaun Banega Crorepati's success paved way to many filmstars who were fighting shy to embrace any show on TV. KBC's success not only revived the fortunes of Star TV but also of AB's sagging career graph! This was followed by a dud called Sawaal Dus Karod Ka, hosted by the Anupam Kher and Manisha Koirala, KBC (SRK in Season 3) and many others.

The lure of TV seems to be not sparing anyone from Bollywood. The latest one to be 'smitten' by the 'Idiot Box' bug is none other than our very own shirtless wonder- Salman Khan, who is all set to say 'Hello' to TV and has vowed to make people rich (read 'super-rich') with his show '10 Ka Dum', to be aired on Sony Entertainment Television (SET).

If you think that becoming rich was that difficult, then, '10 Ka Dum' is all 'SET' to prove you wrong! The contestants here have to think like India, wherein they will have to answer a question, whose answer is an average percentage of a mass opinion poll conducted across India! If your guess matches with the cumulative opinion of India, then, you pocket a decent Rs 10,000 in your pocket! After that, every right or wrong question shifts your winning amount up and down by the power of ten, with the ultimate prize amount being a mammoth Rs 10 Crores!

Meeting Salman Khan and becoming a 'Crorepati'? Now, that's a double treat.
