Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are on their way for a chilled out vacation in the Swiss Alps. Hope there are no bhel puri restaurants there to give Saif the stomach cramps.
Akshay Kumar is already on a holiday with wife Twinkle Khanna , son Aarav and Dimple Kapadia and his mom Aruna. For them, the celebrations began on Dec 29 with Twinkle’s birthday and will continue till the January 1.
Shilpa Shetty is on a vacation with her beau Raj Kundra in Spain. Alongside the duo are their respective families.
Salman Khan along with his brothers is in Goa for the New Years. The celebrations, low-key this year, began in the Khan household from Salman’s birthday on Dec 27 and will continue well into the first few days of January.
Katrina Kaif has been in London for the Christmas reunion with her family and is expected to join Salman on 31st evening.
Malaika Arora would be performing on stage at a hotel in Singapore, while Celina Jaitley will perform at the New Year bash at City Pavilion in London.
Arjun Rampal , Farhan Akhtar , Ritesh Sidhwani and the rest of Rock On gang is headed to Dubai. They initially planned an outing in Goa but changed the plan after the government canceled outdoor parties.
Shahrukh Khan is in Los Angeles to shoot Karan Johar’s film My Name Is Khan . He, Gauri and the kids are likely to fly to Uganda for a brief holiday.
Kajol and Ajay Devgan have left for their farmhouse in Karjat. They are expected back on Jan 2 after which Kajol would fly to the US to shoot with SRK.
John Abraham and Bipasha Basu will most likely head to Goa. Looks like they don’t mind if there aren’t any outdoor parties.
Arjun Rampal turns 36 today
It’s been a good year for model-turned-actor Arjun Rampal. It started with the success of “Om Shanti Om” and he followed that up with the hit “Rock On”, which also got him acclaim for his performance.
Personally, he started moving around in the league of the A-listers. From cheering Shah Rukh’s cricket team in the IPL matches to attending last week’s opening of Atlantis in Dubai, Arjun is now seen in the company of Bollywood’s elite.
With his stack of flop films and struggling days behind, Arjun has every reason to be upbeat and positive, especially today, as he celebrates his 36th birthday.
Though he plans to have a quiet birthday dinner with family and close friends tonight, he’s working on hosting a grand bash to make wife Mehr’s birthday on November 30 a truly special one.
Wishing Arjun Rampal a Very Happy Birthday
In India, the way we worship Lord Ram, Hanuman and others, devotees in Greece worship our Birthday Boy for today: Arjun Rampal! The reason? Because he is a Greek God! Well, life could not have got better for this model-turned-actor dude with an extremely down-to-earth attitude!
How many of us have the fortune of being 'discovered' while you are partying away your blues! Well, for Arjun, his visit to a disco paved his way to superstardom, as he was discovered by none other than the ace designer Rohit Bal himeslf. Arjun took to modelling the way a fish would take to water. What followed after that were assignments galore that established him as one of India's premier and niche' supermodels! And for this man, Bollywood was just a stone's throw distance away! He said 'Cheese' to the tinsel cameras for the first time with his debut film Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat. Even though the film did not work at the Box-Office, it gave directors like Khalid Mohammad, Farah Khan, Farhan Akhtar and likes their 'Salim Mirza', 'Mukesh Mehra', 'Joe Mascarenhas' respectively.
Friends, please join Bollywood Buzz in wishing the one and only Arjun Rampal by posting your wishes below:

India's Sexiest Dad Arjun Rampal
How does it feel to win the title of India's Sexiest Dad?
It feels great! If people think I am that, then I would like to thank them.
Do you feel old?
I am still young (laughs) so I don't feel old on being called India's Sexiest Dad. It makes it more special. My daughters are too young to understand what sexy means. When my wife showed the Ok! magazine to Mahikaa, her hands went up to her mouth and she looked at me strangely. She associated it with sex! I cracked up laughing because at that point you realise that sexy is a much-exploited term.
Do you think you deserve this title?
Of course, I deserve this title!
Who do you feel is the sexiest dad in the world?
Well, I don't look at men (laughs again) so I would have to choose a sexy mom. The world's sexiest mom according to me is my wife, Mehr.
A basic requisite of being a good dad.
Giving unconditional love. I always make it a point to take out time for our daughters, Mahikaa and Myra. Every summer, I take two months off so I can travel with them. I don't take on work at the time.
Are you an indulgent or strict dad?
I spoil them and indulge their every whim. Mehr is not strict but she's the disciplinary factor in their lives. She sets the routine, which is very important. Yet we both are friends with them. We want our children to be open and not hide anything from us.
What's your first, most special memory of Mahikaa?
Mahikaa must have been the youngest baby to travel and get double passports. She was three months old when I was traveling for my world tour with Hrithik. Mahikaa was this fat pumpkin when we were in Orlando in the middle of a hailstorm. Hrithik, Sussanne and I were running to protect Mehr and Mahikaa from the hail and had wrap-ped a big sheet around them. When we reached the hotel, we thought Mahikaa would be very nervous but in all that chaos, she fell fast asleep!
One value that you have instilled in your children.
To be real and honest. I don't want them to be pretentious.
Their favourite star?
I am their favourite star. They watch all my films, love them and know all my songs.
"EMI gave me the opportunity I was waiting for, to do a light role" - Arjun Rampal
It was as natural as rain, as predictable as the entertainment taxes that, one day Arjun Rampal would win over his audiences. What was surprising was that when it happened, in 2006, after the release of Don, came an award winning performance in 2007 - Om Shanti Om. Come September 2008, Rock On created a stampede and he is busy making space on his shelf for some more trophies for the next year. Over the last 7 years, Rampal had delivered a series of usually small and sometimes big but almost always scene-stealing performances. Remember the Deewanapan of Suraj Saxena? The blind Arjun Verma of Aankhen who robs the bank? A tattooed and shameless Ek Ajnabee who back stabs his colonel? All Rampal, all brilliant. The lead roles were few and far between, the financial imperative unfortunately dictating that acting matters. So, when given the chance, Rampal really pulled out the stops by pulling out his guitar and giving his best ever performance in Rock On. Rampal was clearly among the very best. Maybe he was the best. For an actor who once feared Fridays is now fearless, and is getting ready for his next multi-starrer hitting cinemas this Friday, EMI. Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent Devansh Patel caught hold of the very busy Arjun Rampal in a light mood where he struggled with time but not his answers, in this five minute exclusive. Well, success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.
From a rock star guitarist to playing a DJ in EMI. Music in flowing in your blood it seems?
(laughs) You said it bro. Actually, I started doing EMI before I signed Rock On. I even finished shooting EMI before Rock On. But unfortunately it's releasing a bit late. Yes, both are musically inclined films that have come to me. I am turning into a music lover slowly.
EMI is a light humorous entertainer. We haven't seen you in a comic avatar before.
It's all the serious roles I've been doing of late. Be it Ek Ajnabee, Rock On, The Last Lear, and now EMI gave me the opportunity I was waiting for, to do a light role. Also, I was missing the song and dance routine (laughs). You will see me shake a leg after the stupendous success of my last hit number 'Stranger' from Ek Ajnabee.
Do you love dancing?
I do shake a leg sometimes. In Bollywood you have to learn the A to Z. There is no way out or you'll be termed as a stereo-type. And when you're playing a DJ or a Rockstar, you need to dance anyway.
EMI also comes at the time when the world is going through the credit crunch scenario.
Yes, EMI is coming at the time when our economy is in a mess and the banks are in a bigger mess. But the film is a light hearted take on the credit card scenario here (laughs). People will have a laugh and much to think about and learn too from EMI. Heard you play a catholic once again. What a coincidence?
It's a sweet coincidence. I bet the catholic community is already falling in love with me (laughs). I play this character called Ryan Briganza who is a DJ. Like most young ambitious people, he wants all the good things in life and is always in debt and trouble but he manages to find his way out of trouble. It's an interesting role for me plus all the four stories in the film run parallel to each other and yet interconnect with them. Ryan Briganza fights the ongoing battle to pay his loan on time like all the others do in the film and then in walks Sattarbhai to help them out. There is a sweet message at the end of the film which people will take home.
This is your first film with Sanjay Dutt. How was the tough experience?
It wasn't a tough experience but if you've used a pun, then he is a tough guy. I've known Sanju for a long time now but haven't had a chance of doing a film together. He is a very warm person and a talented actor. He is an easy going guy. There is no one who could've played Sattarbhai besides him.
There are two current actresses who have a crush on you.
What are you saying? I do not agree with it but I do agree some of them have had a crush on me while they were in their school or college. I'd like to know their names anyway.
One is Deepika Padukone and the other is Mugdha Godse, who recently delivered a stunning performance in Fashion.
Good to know that. But I think Meher is lucky (laughs). I think you'll have to ask the two pretty ladies why they've had a crush on me so that I can make some kind of a comment. I can't be that lucky (comments).
You're 37 now. Don't you think you've got success a bit late?
Not at all. I was a well known model before and the entire country is aware of that fact. So Arjun Rampal was a successful model but as far as films are concerned, yes, initially some of my films didn't work at the box office and it's only after Om Shanti Om that I felt so close to success that I could touch it. Rock On just doubled it up. My fan following has gone up too. Suddenly, Arjun is the talk of the town and I am happy. Better late than never. I don't believe that an actor has a shelf life. Today I am successful only because I've never given up and have always focused on acting rather than modelling. Your debut film Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat had Suneil Shetty as one of your co-stars. You're working with him again but this time he is a producer. How was the equation?
We added up well (laughs). He is a great host as we all know. Actually, Suneil Shetty is one of the most helpful people within the Indian Film Industry today. He is always the first one there to help anybody. As a producer, he is that much more caring and is a fantastic to work with on and off the sets. He is very thoughtful and takes each and every decision carefully. I hope EMI does well for him as a producer.
Rock On wasn't that well received in the overseas box office. Will EMI come as a welcome relief?
I hope it does well in the overseas territory. I know that Rock On had to struggle knowing the theme of the film plus fresh new faces but EMI has a lot of factors going with it. It's got me (laughs), Sanjay Dutt, Urmila Matondkar, Malaika Arora Khan and it's a Suneil Shetty film. What else do you need? In fact, the script is good too and plus it's a light hearted comedy. I've heard that comedy films work in the overseas. EMI will definitely be a success.
