Dabboo Ratnani's Designer Calendar 2009

Dabboo Ratnani's Designer Calendar 2009

Sometimes a picture can say more than multitudinous words. For a great photograph sparks off diverse connotations and impacts the subconscious in a manner that can't be defined. That's the beauty of Dabboo Ratnani's Photography. It's an Art Form that's unique and goes much beyond the Obvious. Recently Dabboo launched his 10th Annual Calendar for which he shot 48 top Bollywood stars. Bollywood Buzz caught up with him and he shared a few of the pictures from this Designer Calendar exclusively with us for all you guys. Let's bring you Dabboo's impressions about each one of these pictures.

Mallika Sherawat
She wanted to do something which was not the usual. You've always seen sexy pictures of Mallika but we wanted to keep that oomph factor there in the picture and still do something. So both of us brainstormed and we thought let's try something with guns and try something more action image yet still keeping that sexy image like Charlie's Angels.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
I shot lots of pictures in that outfit, the beautiful red gown that Anahita Shroff had done. We did a lot of full lengths, some tight close ups & finally went in for an extremely tight close up for the final choice of picture. The kind of toning that I have given the picture has kind of whitewashed everything else except the eyes and the mouth so the whole attention goes on to the expression to her eyes.

Shahrukh Khan
We had actually frozen on using a white formal shirt but then when I was going through his wardrobe I came across a red shirt. His boy said yeh zyada nahi pehente hain, so I said its ok I'll ask him and he said ok sure whatever you want me to wear. I haven't used any lights in the picture. Although it's an indoor picture, the source of the light was the chrome plated light which was in his library at home.

Kajol
With Kajol it so just happened on the way to the shoot I saw a man who was sitting on the carrier of a taxi. This was one day before the shoot and he was tying something on the carrier and sitting on top which made an interesting composition for me.

Priyanka Chopra
Every picture is different... some have props some don't. This is one of the pictures which doesn't have any prop except for all black on black where she is wearing a black dress. We've used lot of black in that picture. It's more like a fashion shot. The picture is looking simple but that's the beauty of that picture.

Dabboo Ratnani's Designer Calendar 2009

Lara Dutta
We shot in a stud farm where we had a horse in the background. It was a great fun picture, more energy, more the mood of the picture that we tried to capture. Although it's very sexy but it does not look anywhere close to vulgar. That's the beauty of that picture.

Mallika Sherawat Expert At Global Brand Forum

Look who turned out to be a clever girl! Mallika Sherawat has just returned to Mumbai after attending a high profile event in Malaysia on the 4th and 5th of December. She was invited as a guest speaker at the Global Brand Forum 2008, which was held in Kuala Lumpur. Whoa, didn't see that coming! Mallika was a part of an expert panel where she shared her thoughts about the exciting challenges and opportunities facing the movie business and the impact of Indian films on brands and business, with personalities like Hollywood filmmaker Oliver Stone.

Ooh lucky bitch got to rub shoulders with Stone! Bollywood may not recognize her for her acting abilities but it seems like the girl knows the business well. And actually it seems that the audience outside of India seems to appreciate her skills. Recently she got recognized in LA at the Multicultural Motion Picture Diversity Awards for her unique on-screen-persona. Hopefully Miss.

Sherawat will continue to do well and stay on track! We wouldn't want her to fall back on the days when she was prancing around with the serial kisser, Emraan Hashmi for the film that should have been a porno, 'Murder'!

Mallika joins ranks with Hayek

She may keep a low profile here, but Mallika Sherawat is creating waves
abroad.

The diva is a recipient of the US-based Multicultural Motion Picture Association’s Diversity Awards and is flying to attend a star-studded gala dinner this Sunday in California.

Mallika, who will be presented the 2008 Renaissance Artist Award — given to artists of diverse creative talents worldwide, will join other international celebs from the film and television industry at the Universal Studios’ Global Theatre for the presentation ceremony.
The citation behind the award states it is bestowed for the recipients’ “distinctive on-screen persona that is uniquely their own and allows their character depictions to bring audiences from laughter to tears”.

A surprised Mallika told BT, “I thought it was a hoax! But then I said stranger things than an Indian actress getting an award in Hollywood have happened... like a handsome black man in the White House!”

Past recipients of the award include top Hollywood actresses like Salma Hayek, Halle Berry, and Monica Belluci. Mallika said modestly, “I’m certainly not in their league yet, but hopefully in ten years — when I’ve worked as long as they have, I’ll have a body of work that’s as good.”

Meanwhile, after The Myth with Jackie Chan, the actress is doing Hiss for Hollywood with Jennifer Lynch and Robert Kurtzman. “It’s going to shock the hell out of you, but you will be entertained,” Mallika promised.

Mallika Sherawat features in the November issue of Grazia

What do you call a lady who owns the patent of all the three degrees of Hot, Hotter and Hottest? Before you start rattling down names or disturb the traffic of Google, let us tell you that she is none other than Madame Mallika Sherawat, who is (needless to say) all over not just the place, but also over everyone's hearts! If that was not enough, then, she is in a very corporately chic avatar in the latest edition of the fashion magazine Grazia.

They talk about the 'Girl next door'. But looking at Mallika, even this tag fails to impress the situation. The term that really describes her best is 'The Boss Next Cabin'. For starters, Mallika, who is known for her 'words-faster-than-bullets' kind of speech, has mellowed down now, and which shows in the whole of the interview. The whole article is more of an A-Z of Mallika (from what she was to what she is today), which is accompanied by snaps (full marks to the photographer for presenting her like never before) which complements the article. A small mention to the section of '5 Things To Know About Mallika', which gives an insight of the 'Real Mallika'!

All in all, it's indeed a collectors issue to say the least!

Wishing Mallika Sherawat a Very Happy Birthday

We have seen models and supermodels becoming the Brand Ambassadors of a zillion products, but if at all there was a Brand Ambassador for guts and confidence, this Birthday girl will win it hands down, for she is none other than the Madame' of Madames, the Royal Queen amongst the Princesses...Mallika Sherawat .

Having started her career in Bollywood with the much talked about Khawahish, Mallika made it to the big league with Murder, Bollywood's very own version of the Hollywood hit Unfaithful. She followed it up with a series of hits, mega hits and smash hits like Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Aap Ka Suroor - The Moviee - The Real Love Story, to name a few.

Her fame was not just restricted to Indian frames alone, as it spread its wings to foreign shores also when she made a widely publicized appearance at the Cannes Film Festival to promote The Myth, alongside none other than the mega star Jackie Chan! So much so that Mallika has even been voted as one of Asia's 100 most beautiful people by the Hong Kong based fashion and beauty magazine, 'Cover'.

Folks, in order to wish 'Happy Birthday' to Mallika, simply zip, zap and zoom your heartfelt wishes by posting it below

Mallika won't have any dialogues in 'Hisss'

Mallika Sherawat has often played the blabber-mouthed girl-next- door roles. However in her forthcoming film, Jennifer Lynch's Hisss, she won't have any dialogues. Mallika who plays a snake woman, will express her emotions and feelings through body language and expressions.

Confirming this, director Jennifer Lynch says, "Mallika is a snake so how is she expected to talk? She doesn't know the human language. The world of words and sentences is unknown to her. As a snake, she has other senses with which she communicates.

Even when she transforms from her snake from to the human one, she doesn't speak. Mallika kind of freaked out when she was told that she had no lines. As an actress, she is used to convey her emotions and expressions through dialogues."

A source reveals that this is Mallika's most challenging role to date. "It's not just mentally exhausting but also physically. She has to forget that she's human when she takes the snake form. Her body movements and expressions change. Her make-up takes about five hours to be put on and she has to wear contact lenses which resemble a snakes eyes all day, which is quite a painful ordeal."

When asked how Mallika is coping with these requirements, Jennifer says, "She is a sport and is doing everything possible in her capacity to make this role her best. She realises it's a big challenge but is fully determined to go all out to bring it alive on screen."

RGV meets Mallika Sherawat on the sets of her film 'Hissss'

Mallika Sherawat worked with Ram Gopal Varma in his film Darna Zaroori Hai a few years back. However, after that, things reportedly turned a bit 'sour' between the Bollywood bombshell and the maverick director. In fact, a section of the media went on to say that RGV and Mallika are at loggerheads with each other.

All this speculation was put to rest when Ram Gopal Varma dropped by on the sets of Mallika's upcoming film Hissss, recently. Apparently RGV heard about the film from Mallika and immediately expressed his desire to visit the sets to see how Hollywood's leading special effects director, Robert Kurtzman, worked on creating the much-hyped 'Naagin' of the film. As we had reported earlier, a lot of detailing and effort has gone into getting the right look for Mallika's character.

Ramu (as he is fondly known as) interacted with Mallika, director Jennifer Lynch and even make-up and special effects expert Robert Kurtzman. The director was so impressed with Robert's work and the treatment of the film that he went on to say that Hissss has the potential to become one of the greatest films made in India. In fact, the director also expressed desire to work with Robert for one of his films in the near future.

Farah Khan's starry Eid bash

Farah Khan's Eid lunch party turned out to be a star-studded affair with the who's who of B-Town turning up. Farah and husband Shirish Kunder played perfect hosts. Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Shekhar of Vishal-Shekhar were the early birds.

Dino Morea, Lara Dutta, Mallika Sherawat with producer brother Vikram, Anil Kapoor with wife Sunita and daughter Sonam, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Sohail and Seema Khan, Chunky and Bhavna Pandey, Farhan Akhtar, Rani Mukerji, Karan Johar, Tusshar Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar and Manish Malhotra, Fardeen Khan with wife Natasha, and Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan trooped in.

A lavish spread kheema pau to Kashmiri dum alu, mushroom pulao and mutton biryani. Kulfi and kheer were the desserts on offer.

The actual stars of the party were arah and Shirish's triplets Diva, Anya and Czar, all dressed in white embroidered kurtas. The trio seemed most at ease with the starry presence all around them. Their real faves turned out to be Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, and Mallika Sherawat the three bombshells were at ease handling the babies. Quite a party this!

Mallika's deadly Snake Woman look in Jennifer Lynch's Hissss

Now this one's a first for Mallika Sherawat. The Bollywood hottie is all set to play the role of a 'Naagin' in the Bollywood- Hollywood co-production, Hissss, directed by renowned Hollywood director Jennifer Lynch.

The film, which also stars Irrfan Khan, is about the vengeance of a 'Naagin' (The Snake Woman) and is produced by Govind Menon & Vikram Singh. From the looks of it, a lot of detailing and effort seems to have gone in getting the right look for Mallika Sherawat's character. Mallika's character is of a snake that transforms into a stunningly attractive woman.

Robert Kurtzman, one of the greatest special effects artists of the West, has been entrusted with the job of giving the right look for Mallika in this film. Robert has worked on films such as Vanilla Sky, Pulp fiction, Spy Kids and Evil Dead. The kind of make-up used is MUFX (prosthetic make-up) which is a technology that has won numerous awards. Two make-up artists have been working on Mallika's look and the material she wears is so slimy that at times it just sticks to the skin. What's more Madame Sherawat can't even move in her natural way with her make-up and at times is even carried to the sets. As for those scary eyes, Mallika is seen wearing some really huge contact lenses to get the desired effect.

Bollywood has seen films like Naagin, Nagina and Jaani Dushman, which had actors transform into snakes and seek revenge but going by the detailing and styling gone into getting the right look for the Snake Woman in this film, we can safely say that this is a first of its kind in Bollywood.

Mallika falls ill on the sets of Naagin

Mallika Sherawat has been shooting non-stop for Jennifer Lynch's Naagin The Snake Woman and fell ill last week as a result. Govind Menon and Mallika's brother Vikram are co-producing the film along with Ratan Jain of Venus Records and Tapes. Irrfan Khan co-stars.

Says a source on the sets of Filmistan where Naagin is currentlyly being shot, "Mallika has been shooting round the clock for the last week when she fell ill due to exhaustion and fever.

Though it's a normal shift, it sometimes stretches from 9 am to 9 pm. The strain proved to be too much for Mallika. She is working very hard on her role. Her make-up alone takes four hours! Last Friday, the actress was in no condition to shoot. Her physician Dr Agarwal had to be called in to give her shots to help her get through the day."

The actress is a strict vegetarian and believes in eating only natural foods, so her protein intake isn't high, which could have been a cause of her collapse.

The source adds that Mallika is a strong woman and recovered fast. "We have put up a huge workshop in the studio where special effects creator Robert Kurtzman (Vanilla Sky, Evil Dead and Quentin Tarantino's films) is actually creating a 12-feet long huge snake which Mallika transforms into. The film which was to be shot in Chennai originally was delayed of lightmen's strike there, so the unit is working against time to complete the film, which they want to release in May 2009. So Mallika has been shooting without any complains about the long hours."

Mallika's brother Vikram says, "Yes, we had to call in Dr Agarwal as Mallika was unwell but she's all right now."

Moral Police goes skirt-chasing with Mallika, Bollywood reacts

Shilpa Shetty: "I'm just happy that the obscenity case against my dress in Tamil Nadu is quashed. I won.”

Malaika Arora: "I think Mallika has become a favourite punching-bag in the press. Leave the girl alone. It's ridiculous. Maybe the moral police in the South should take a closer look at their own films for obscenity.”

Rahul Khanna: "I feel quite sad for the moral police. Perhaps they're jealous of Mallika's legs. They seem to have a lot of free time on hand? Why not use it for issues more important than length of skirts?”

Hema Malini: "I was there in Chennai. Mallika's dress was looking good. She too was looking very good. But perhaps the dress was a little too short for the occasion. Who knows!”

Sonu Sood : "Some people have all the time in the world to measure dress lengths. Good for them. At least moral policing keeps some people busy. At the same time, I feel some celebrities dress a certain way to attract attention and create controversies. Ignore them. It will avoid unnecessary publicity.

Rohit Roy: "What can one say…I'd love to know what the moral police was doing looking at Ms Sherawat's crossed legs? Maybe waiting for them to uncross???”

Amrita Arora: "It's ridiculous. What's wrong with wearing a short skirt? And why only target Mallika for it? Girls in colleges and work places across the country are wearing them. Go get all of them, you moral cops! By the way there're much more serious things to be done in our country than 'skirt-chasing'.”

Niharika Singh: "I think this is complete hypocrisy. Films down south have a lot more skin show. There's no need to make a mountain out of a molehill.”

Sophie Chodhry: "I think the reaction to Mallika's skirt is ridiculous. According to me the outfit is definitely not vulgar or offensive. Surely there're a hundred other issues in our country to get upset about. Leave Mallika and her clothes alone.”

Dia Mirza: "I think they've no right to comment on Mallika. I think they should instead give attention to the sleaze content in some of their films. Stop pointing fingers at someone just because you've nothing better to do.”

Lilette Dubey: "Who's this self-appointed brigade? And what are they afraid of? Influencing the youth of this country? A generation that's now exposed to cinema, fashion and images from around the world right there in their homes? It's up to the individual to decide what she wears and if she can handle the public gaze then it's her prerogative to dress the way she wants.”

Priyanka (Nisha) Kothari: "I think the moral police are more publicity crazy than any other section of our society.”

Samir Soni: "I believe what is moral or immoral is an extremely personal decision. No group of people has the right to force their value system on us unless an individual's action inconveniences others or obstructs someone's fundamental rights.”

Aryan Vaid: What can one say? This isn't really about protection of any morals but the narrow political interests of a group of people. The laws of the land seem to apply in different measures to different sections of people. There was nothing wrong with Mallika's outfit. But there's a long wrong with these moral terrorist outfits."

Gul Panag: "Why should it be anyone's business what someone wears or doesn't wear? The moral police should close down Khajuraho or dress up the sculpture in 'suitable' clothes before attacking anyone.”

Sandhya Mridul: "With due respect the actresses down South wear clothes that seem pretty suggestive and sexy. So what's their problem? The moral police all over the country should keep tabs on real moral issues rather than the clothes actress' wear. Incidentally, why are only actresses pulled up for extra-censoring? Why not the males who nowadays pose in less than women?"

Pooja Bedi: "I think the more importance the media gives such people the more such cases we'll see. The quickest route to fame is to sue celebrities. Morality is so subjective. Do these moralists want to take us back to the days of the purdah? And should their standards of morality be applicable to society? Was there a dress code at the music event? If not how could they expect a girl with a glamorous sexy image to land up in a salwar-kameez?

Nandana Sen: “It's absurd! Mallika is beautiful and has a style of her own .How can anyone have the right to say that style is wrong? Should we all start wearing uniforms now to make everyone happy? Clothes are one of the ways in which a person expresses her or his individuality. Dictating what another individual wears is as ridiculous as a third party forbidding you, a writer, from choosing certain topics. Or me, an actor, from taking on certain roles. And if I decide to do what I choose, should my nose and ear be cut as happened today? What's the issue with Mallika's clothes? If the concern is protecting women's dignity, why don't we create a safe and protective environment so that little girls aren't thrown into fires for stepping beyond boundaries that should never have been set up?

Mallika in spotlight again!

The spectacle of suitably offended custodians of morality dragging a public figure to the police/courts for inappropriate behaviour or outfits has been played out far too frequently in recent times.

The brouhaha over Mallika Sherawat’s dress at a recent Chennai event for the audio release function of Dasavatharam seemed to be part of the same pattern – except that this time it doesn’t seem to have gone anywhere further. The police have decided that, at least so far, there is no case against Mallika.

The Periamet Police Station in Chennai had first decided to send Mallika a notice seeking an explanation about the dress that she wore to the function, and also about her sitting cross-legged on the stage with CM M Karunanidhi. However, there is no case now. Informs Ashok Kumar, inspector at the Periamet police station, “There is no case against Miss Sherawat as of now. Apparently, she wasn’t sitting cross-legged on the stage. We have requested for footage of the function to know more about this. But as of now, there is no case.” So we assume policemen in Chennai will therefore keep crime prevention on hold for a while to study videos to ascertain the alignment of Mallika’s limbs! Another police officials in Chennai adds, “What Mallika did was her personal decision, nobody can question her about what she does in real life.”

Actress Khushboo, who has herself been at the receiving end of the moral police on more occasions than one, is happy at with what looks like a snub to the moral police. The actress who was seen sobbing on national TV while apologising for saying that there was nothing wrong with premarital sex if it was protected, is now happy that the case has been dropped. “Whenever people asked me when the moral police is going to stop, I used to tell them that they will stop when some sense prevails. Sense has prevailed then. There is nothing against Mallika anymore. The case has been called off and there is no complaint filed against her now anywhere. It is the first step,” she tells DT.

And the legal fraternity is happy too. Says Delhi High Court advocate Vinod Wadhwa, “These are pointless suits and they only waste the time of the judiciary. Just because one is allowed to file a complaint, it doesn’t mean that he/she can complaint about anything or anybody. Frivolous PILs are rejected with heavy costs now by the judiciary and this case should have been given similar treatment.”

Mallika's pole dance

Sherawat watched videos of professional dancers before shooting for Kamal Haasan’s film

Mallika Sherawat
Mallika Sherawat was seen as a belly dancer in Mani Ratnam’s Guru. In Kamal Hassan’s film Dasavatharam, the actress has done a pole dance.
Madam M is famous for preparing for her roles seriously. It is learnt that for Dasavatharam, she watched videos of professional pole dancers before shooting for the song.

A source says, “When Mallika was told that she had to do a pole dance, she was excited. As a result, she did a lot of research.”

Brinda who choreographed the Maiyya Maiyya number in Guru has worked with her once again in Dasavatharam.

“Mallika has done an awesome job. I don’t think she’s looked this hot before.”

About the the song, Brinda says, “She’s in a club and has to seduce Kamal Sir. There are also background dancers.

We shot in two days, and unlike her image Mallika didn’t throw any tantrum or give us any stress.

She was extremely co-operative.”

100 security guards to protect Mallika

Shooting with a sexy siren on the streets is a very difficult task. And things only only get more difficult if the actor happens to be as hot as Mallika Sherawat. Ask producer Ratan Jain.

Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose were shooting a romantic scene for Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam on the streets of Pondicherry when the crowds refused to let Mallika shoot in peace. “It almost became impossible to shoot the scenes with Mallika, who was being mobbed by all her fans. No matter what the film’s unit did to keep the crowd away, Mallika’s fans just refused to let her shoot as they wanted to take a close look at her,” said a unit member from the sets of Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam.

Finally, producer Ratan Jain ended up hiring almost 100 security guards to protect Mallika and keep the crowd away. Raan Jain confirmed and said, “Yes, it was a pretty critical situation as we were responsible for Mallika’s safety. We did hire 100 security guards from a local agency to protect her.”

Mallika's new 'devil' look revealed!

'She' is Hottie Madame and 'He' is every Madam's Adam! When they come together, it's gonna be fireworks to the ton. We are indeed talking about Mallika Sherawat and Ranvir Shourey, who will very soon be seen in their forthcoming film Ugly Aur Pagli. Produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, and directed by Sachin Kamlakar Khot, this one is definitely a summer treat!

After having created oodles of waves with her last PNC flick, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, it will be a real cracker to see Madame Sherawat in her new look, which is a real refresher from her Khwaaish days, coz Ugly and Pagli has 99 slaps and 1 kiss!

Way to go Mallika!

Mallika Sherawat , the belly dancer

The sex siren of Bollywood, Mallika Sherawat has always managed to keep herself in the limelight. Mallika was in the news for her raunchy jig that she performed at a 5 star hotel two years ago on New Year’s Eve. A shake here and a shake there for just 30 to 45 minutes, and the Murder actress walked away with a king’s booty.

Dressed in revealing clothes for a song in Himesh Reshammiya’s debut film as Aap Ka Suroor, she became the most expensive item girl, as she charged Rs. 1.5 crore for her item number in the movie. Aap Ka Suroor did well at the box office. She was also seen belly dancing in Guru . Strangely but truly, the actress has managed this dance form which was special to yesteryear Dancing Queen Helen.

The main attraction of the movie Aap Ka Suroor was the cult song 'Mehbooba Mehbooba' that had Mallika doing a cabaret act like Helen in Ramesh Sippy's movie Sholay . A lot of efforts had gone in creating the costumes to make Mallika and the song look glamorous and attractive.

For Guru, Mallika Sherawat shot the item number in Turkey with Abhishek Bachchan. She was seen gyrating sensuously to the composition of A.R. Rahman, titled Mayya Mayya. And Mallika’s moves were devoured by one and all. The actress had practiced hard for these steps and the hard work paid. With no movie in sight, this was one way Mallika remained in sight for her fans.
In the new ad, Mallika will be tempting consumers to go fida over the beverage. But since it is an alcohol brand, it is being advertised as music cassettes and cd’s. The ad is picturised on a song where Mallika will be seen sensuously inviting all to be intoxicated with her, with the music and her dances.

So is Mallika the queen of belly dancing.. lets leave it to her audience .. but for now, certainly film makers and advertisers believe so..

Mallika: Million dollar babe

There’s constant oneupmanship in Bollywood. If one star gets paid a crore today, the other will rakes in two crores tomorrow.

This is especially so among the actresses. Recently, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were in the news. Kareena for charging a whopping amount for her films and Katrina for becoming the most expensive item girl in Bollywood at an exorbitant Rs 1.5 crore.

Now the race is hotting up! Diva Mallika Sherawat is not far behind. Sometime ago she made news as the most expensive cameo actress, when she charged Rs 1.5 crore for a 10-minute role in Himesh Reshammiya’s Aap Ka Suroor .

Now Mallika’s back and making even a bigger impact. The actress is being paid a million dollars for an ad! Yes, she is charging Rs 3.5 crores for a CD and cassettes advertisement. It’s basically a surrogate commercial film directed by filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar for which the lyrics are apparently written by Gulzar.

Million dollar baby Mallika is naturally excited about her latest venture and the big bucks! “It’s about time that filmmakers in India stop telling actresses that we look like a million dollars and start paying us that. The way India is growing and the way the US dollar is sinking, it won’t be long before a million dollars and a million rupees mean the same thing.”

Mallika in demand

Mallika Sherawat has always been in demand. Sometimes by the media, sometimes by older men.. remember Parresh Rawal and Nana Patekar are her big friends.. and now it's the men on her set.

Mallika is currently shooting for Sanjay Chhel's Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam and the schedule has been a long and tough one. After a long and gruelling day, the director fired some spot boys for their slipshod work.

To the astonishment of one and all, Mallika stood up for the spot boys and asked Chhel, the director to take it easy. She said, Please don't shout on the sets. It creates too much of unpleasantness and no work is done. So please calm yourself and talk to them properly."

There was a stunned silence. Sanchita, who is the production in charge of the film remarked, "I have never seen any actor stand up for these workers. It's a great feeling. I wish more and more actors would take up the cause for them. They are under paid and over worked, so a little bit of compassion helps their morale."

Since that day, all the workers are Mallika's biggest fans. They attend to her slightest whims and pamper her. Good going, Mallika. It’s nice to see someone stand up for the cine workers who contribute a lot to India's glitz and glamour.

Mallikaji, Mujhe aap se milna hei, says Govinda

Govinda is determined to make it in his second innings in B-Town and has been sending feelers to leading actresses’ to work with him.

The actor recently approached Mallika Sherawat to do a film with him, but the hot actress has given him a cold-shoulder.

Says a source, “Govinda called Mallika out of the blue about a month ago and expressed his desire to work with her.

Mallika spoke to him and promised to meet him.

But after that day Madam M has not been answering Chi Chi’s calls! Govinda obviously is furious about it.”

The source adds, “As Mallika is not taking his calls, Govinda has now started been sending her text messages.

The actor sends close to four messages a day. No one knows why he is trying so hard to work with her!”

A source close to Mallika, who has been shown the messages says, “It is true.

Govinda is trying so hard to work with Mallika; he has been sending messages like there is no tomorrow.

Although his SMSes aren’t rude or anything; he seems to be desperate to work with her.”

The SMSes Govinda has been sending Mallika

Mallikaji, Main Govinda naam ka ek chota sa actor hoon. Mujhe aap se milne ka ek mauka deejiye.

Amul Sharma, Mid-Day
